The first 26 Delano Bike Racks were installed in the summer of 2011. Time for a ribbon-cutting and celebration!
The plan calls for over 200 bike racks to be installed along Douglas from the river to Vine in 9 phases.
The plan was adopted by the City Council and with the assistance of Scott Wadle in planning we were able to locate funding for Phase I.
The Delano Bike Rack Ribbon Cutting and Bicycle Block Party was held on Thursday, August 11th.
The Ribbon Cutting was at the Clock Tower at 6:00 followed by a bicycle procession to the 1700 - 1800 blocks of West Douglas where the Bicycle Block Party took place.
Phase II was installed in the summer of 2014 and consisted of another 24 racks.
We are currently working on funding for Phase III which will expand the program west of Seneca.
