The Delano PlanDelano's renaissance since the turn of the century is the result of community action at work. The Delano Neighborhood Revitalization Plan would never have been adopted by the City if not for the work of the Clergy, Neighborhood and Business Associations. Today, the Plan is implemented by Delano United, Delano's Community Development Corporation (CDC). The Delano PlanIn 1999, Delano residents, business owners and clergy worked together to develop the Delano Neighborhood Revitalization Plan which lays out plans for future development in Delano. In 2018 the City initiated a review and update to the Delano Plan which was adopted in 2019. Future residents or business owners should be aware of the Delano Neighborhood Design Guidelines which are contained in the Plan. The Delano Neighborhood Revitalization PlanThe Delano Neighborhood Revitalization Plan was developed by the community in 1999-2000 and adopted by the City and County into their Master Plans in April of 2001. In the fall of 2017 the City of Wichita formed a Delano Plan Advisory Committee of Delano stakeholders to review the Delano Plan and recommend updates to it. The Advisory Committee was given the task of what to replace the aging Lawrence-Dumont stadium with once it was gone. After some discussion, it was decided to replace it with a Ballpark Village which would include a baseball museum and include retail, office and residential development. The design of the Ballpark Village was separated out as a separate Master Plan document which would be included as an amendment to the Delano Plan update. The updated plan was adopted by the City and County in late 2019.
